The year 2021 marks the 200th anniversary of the start of the Greek Revolution and all Greeks, wherever they may be, have a common meeting place, the Morea. The Captain Vassilis and Carmen Constantakopoulos Foundation and TEMES S.A. join forces with The Ministry of Foreign Affairs –General Secretariat of Greeks Abroad, in collaboration with the South East European Studies at Oxford (SEESOX) and The Hellenic Initiative, is making an open call to members of the Greek diaspora to meet this year in the Peloponnese, in the land where the Struggle for Independence took root!
Morias 21 was launched with the goal to attract Diaspora Greeks and philhellenes from around the world to visit the birthplace of the Greek War of Independence.
In the place where it all began, we shall have the opportunity to take an experiential journey into history in our homeland through a fourfold program of historical routes, nature, gastronomy and art. Ultimately, we shall reconnect with our roots, drawing useful conclusions from those moments – good and bad – which shaped our identity, so that we may jointly plan a better future for Greece and Greeks everywhere.
This year… I, too, will be in the Morea!
